What this service is
This is a verification service for educational certificates. Each document carries a QR code that opens a page showing whether the document was genuinely issued by the authority named on it, and whether it is still valid or has been revoked.
- It never asks visitors for a password or username.
- It never asks for card details or any form of payment.
- It collects no personal data and requires no sign-in.
- It downloads no software to your device.
The only thing a visitor ever enters is the verification code printed on the document. It is a random code tied to no account.
Who built this
This system was built as a working prototype for a developer job application. It is not an official government or university service. The documents on it are either test data or documents supplied by their own holder with consent.
How it works
Every document is digitally signed with an Ed25519 key belonging to the issuing authority. Anyone can verify that signature themselves using the published public key, without contacting our servers at all.
